Providing Support to Innovative Ideas.

Abortion Conversation Projects supports community-based projects that challenge abortion stigma.

True social change begins in communities.

Our Grant Partners create new ways to talk about abortion honestly and publicly, to promote speaking and listening with empathy and dignity, and to lessen the stigmatization of abortion.

By funding and partnering with individuals and small groups engaged in new stigma-busting projects, we step in at a critical time in the life of big ideas.

"ACP is a real treasure to the reproductive health, rights, and justice community, providing support to young, innovative ideas at a moment when they need it most."

– Jenny Dodson Mistry, "Abortion Looks Like" with WIN. NYC, ACP Grant Partner 2014

Since 2012, we've funded 50 projects in 20 countries - and we're ready to keep going! Make a year-end donation today and help us bust stigma in 2018 and beyond!

Why Give to Abortion Conversation Projects?

Because donations go directly to supporting grassroots organizations like COLOR, a small reproductive justice organization focused on reaching Latinas and their families in Denver. With help from ACP, COLOR & 1 in 3 Youth Council launched their ARTivism campaign, with art-making activities to spark abortion conversations at public events throughout their community. By supporting projects that blend art-making with activism, we inspire deeper conversations, invite respectful dialogue, and elevate individual stories.

What Will My Donation Do?

Because of your generous donations, The Knoxville Abortion Doula Collective has become a critical resource for people seeking compassionate abortion decision conversation in the Southeast U.S.

An ACP seed grant jump-started the Collective's hotline and website, which offer information, support, and direct contact with volunteer abortion doulas to those going through a reproductive experience.
Your donation seeds big ideas like theirs – so that now when a woman in Tennessee needs to talk through her decision making or find funding for abortion, there's a trained abortion doula to support her on the other end of the line.
Why Now?

Because anti-abortion activists and politicians relentlessly stigmatize abortion care providers – and our grant partners are working to change that.

We're proud to have partnered with Jacquelyn Day to help her launch The Abortion Broadcast: The Podcast from the Other End of the Speculum. By elevating the voices and experiences of abortion care providers, Jacquelyn busts myths and misconceptions about abortion care from a provider perspective that's rarely heard.

Because abortion stigma requires creative solutions, we foster creative collaborations. For example, The Abortion AccessHackathon brought together abortion care providers, programmers, and other tech people to team up on solutions to problems at a weekend conference in New York City.

What Our Grant Partners Have To Say:

"As a clinic worker-turned-academic, I often face challenges in explaining the relevance of abortion stigma to research audiences and community members alike. Without the expertise of the ACP Board of Directors who helped me conceptualize my project, my dream of giving back to clinics I used to work in would not be a reality. ACP has helped me strategize the best ways to bring together research and practice in abortion care."

Lena Hann, assistant professor of public health at Augustana College in Illinois, creator of the Best Practices Guide for Fetal Tissue Viewing,
Grant Partner Fall 2015

"ACP was instrumental in helping our collective grow from a big idea to an incredible resource for people seeking abortion in the Southeast US."
–The Knoxville Abortion Doula Collective, Grant Partner Fall 2016
"Thank you [ACP] SO MUCH for all you've done to support this project.
It has become something larger than we'd ever imagined!
In addition to the U.S., we have zines shipping to Canada, South Africa, The Netherlands, and more -- and we've only had international orders open for a week!"
–Mick Moran, The Doula Project, Abortion Self-Care Booklet
Grant Partner Fall 2015
"Abortion Conversation Projects supported NOT AT HOME in a moment that was crucial to the project. Thanks to the award we were able to create an experience that actively engaged the local communities and generated large media interest internationally, drawing attention to the experience of Irish women."

– Joanna, Theatre Club, Dublin Ireland 2016 Grant Partner
